Whereas Hear by Right has successfully set out the standards for active involvement of young people, Act by Right equips them with the skills to actually be active. The resource is rooted in young people's right to take action, is a learning and developmental tool, and is intended to lead young people towards making concrete improvements in the services they use.
The active involvement of young people remains a vital priority in the work of The National Youth Agency. Crucially, Act by Right has been developed in consultation with young people, and has been tried and tested by groups throughout the process. By employing these methods, The NYA is confident that the new publication is as useful and effective as it possibly could be. All the groups' comments and suggestions for improvement have been incorporated into the final version, from the detail of the text to the manner of the illustrations. Encouragingly, there has even been interest from other countries in developing Act by Right for their own markets.
