"Young people are often the best at 'making change happen'," writes NYA patron Kierra Box. "We are good at it because we think of ideal solutions and fit them to reality - rather than thinking first of budgets and paperwork. We are good because our power and status don't rely on everything remaining as it is."
The groups of young people decided whether the various sections in the pack worked, and whether the campaign for change the book espouses can realistically be achieved with its help. Representatives from these groups will be launching the book to a range of local authorities and organisations at the LGA offices in London, as part of the LGA's Local Democracy Week. NYA staff will be taking a backseat while the young people give presentations about Act by Right, describing how it was created, and also running workshops, taking people through the various chapters in just 75 minutes.
