TUESDAY - It's the first meeting of our new children's trust board. I'm really impressed with the number of organisations represented and the enthusiasm of members. The board approves a new constitution and reviews our draft plan after some very robust debate about performance targets and the importance of benchmarking. The point is well made that measuring local improvement needs to be done in the context of how others are doing or it can lack real meaning.
WEDNESDAY - Today is spent on the move. After a busy morning I dash over to an induction for new head teachers, which provides me with yet another opportunity to meet and greet. Then I'm off to Leicester for a meeting of The National Youth Agency trustees.
