My Week - A magic carpet to escape my worries

1 min read
Monday: Listening to the radio, my jaw nearly drops into my cornflakes as I hear a news story that suggests that some babies should be adopted straight after birth. Over the kettle at work, everyone is talking about it and everyone has a different view. Whatever you think, it has certainly raised the issue of stability in children's lives.

Tuesday: Grey day today, and not just the sky. My friend's two-year-old daughter died suddenly a month ago, and we're still attempting to come to grips with it. Some days are okay, some days I see a littlie on the train and it hits home again.

It puts everything into perspective - moaning about trivia suddenly sounds so shallow. The sense of frustration drives me mad, but also in a strange way drives me on. I'm still working with children. I can't change what's happened but I can continue to try to make a difference for those who have their whole future in front of them.
