My Week - Belly dancing for beginners in stitches

1 min read
MONDAY - Meet my friend Ben for the first time in 16 years. We worked together in Devon many years ago when I was play development officer. We ran playdays in the parks and Ben taught children how to juggle and spin plates, as well as perform breathtaking circus acts - I used to love it as much as the children did. I'm not surprised when he tells me that his son is gifted at juggling too.

TUESDAY - It's my mum's 78th birthday today and we spend the evening together. She's not been well for a while and I'm conscious that all time spent together is precious these days. Although fragile, she still has a very rude sense of humour and we spend the evening in fits - I have her to thank for my innate naughtiness!

WEDNESDAY - Run a workshop on reducing bullying in the afternoon with a group of strategic stakeholders to decide what our priorities are for the coming year. Our strategy is in place and action planning is the next stage.

We have invited external speakers to talk about the realities for children facing racist and homophobic bullying. Hearing about the impact of bullying on the health and wellbeing, and educational attainment of children really hits home and we set some targets to put our plans into action.
