My Week - Eek! Is that stage light shining on me?

Monday: Back to work after a Value the Difference course, where I met children and young people's workers from across Europe.

There's nothing like a bit of cross-cultural exchange to broaden your horizons. Whether we're in Devon or Denmark, there are lots of us and learning from each other is vital.

Tuesday: Off to a local high school to progress its pilot Single Equality Scheme. This toolkit brings together equality duties, plus issues such as sexual orientation, community cohesion and anti-bullying. We're piloting it across a range of settings, including youth and social care.

Run a training session in the afternoon on building resilience for our Gypsy Roma Traveller Achievement Service. What becomes clear is that Gypsy, Roma and Traveller children have the strong family support they need within their own communities - it's when they go into wider society that they face prejudice and discrimination, and then they need all the resilience skills they can muster.
