The leader at the time encouraged me to take my First Aid badge at the same time as more experienced Badgers. She said that she wanted me to take it for the experience, but said I was not to worry if I didn't pass as I hadn't been there when everyone had done the course work. To much surprise I passed with flying colours.
At the age of 10 I moved up to the Cadet Division and started to work towards my Grand Prior award, which I received at the end of 2004. After I had been in cadets for a while I started to go on courses organised by St John Ambulance Sussex. They are a lot of fun and a great opportunity to make new friends.
