My Life: Oliver Wyatt, 14, Chichester

1 min read
If I said I joined St John Ambulance because I dreamed of becoming a doctor, nurse or paramedic, I'd be lying.

Aged nine I was drafted into St John by my conspiring mother andgrandmother.

My first course was radio communication. I was so scared about using aradio. However, when I passed, I was praised by members and ever since Ihave gone from strength to strength. I have had great encouragement andsupport from my division and family.

In February, I entered the Cadet of the Year competition and, to mysurprise, won. I was one of the youngest cadets to ever win it. I havebeen invited to many events such as The Needlework Festival at LewesTown Hall and the South of England Show at Ardingly where I've met otherdivision members and dignitaries from across Sussex.
