My Life

1 min read
For as long as I can remember I have dreamed of becoming a pilot, which is why I was ecstatic when I found out that my six-week Career Academy internship was at London Luton Airport.

I was given so many different projects and treated incredibly well by everyone. Tasks included allocating flights to various check-in desks, helping to deal with passenger queries, data management and observing various operations. I also worked on environmental and community projects.

The highlight was when I spent time at Easyjet and got the chance to observe pilots being briefed for a flight. I also walked round the aircraft with the first officer doing checks and watched as the aircraft was pushed onto the taxiway.

My experience taught me how to portray a positive image of myself, work in an adult environment and talk to people with confidence. It made me even more certain about what I want to do. I can't thank the people who organised my placement enough for all the time they put in. - Do you know a child or young person with a story to tell?
