Looked-after young people: Charity to launch youth web sites

With the help of a worker of their choice, young people in care from each local authority in England will write about news and issues from their area.

The project follows a successful pilot in the Northwest last year. Maxine Wrigley, national co-ordinator of A National Voice, said: "The micro sites are a bit like MySpace, where young people can write, edit and publish their own news, which will be available to the public."

Users will also be able to download local information.

Funding is still being sought to develop the project.
