At Parentline Plus, we agree that talking about relationships, sex andresponsibilities gives children the knowledge and confidence to faceimportant choices in the future.
The feedback we have from parents and carers is they want to talk totheir children about sex but don't know where to start.
A poll revealed 86 per cent of parents feel strongly there would befewer teenage pregnancies if more parents talked to their children aboutsex, but there is still a reluctance to start those conversations.
We recently launched two information leaflets in a bid to encourageparents to make time to talk to their children. Parents have beenrequesting the leaflets in their thousands, which we are encouraged byas it shows a real willingness to take the initiative, when given thehelp and support to do so.
