Members of the UK Youth Parliament have repeatedly questioned why someyoung people receive detailed and informative sex and relationshipseducation within their school timetable, while others receive the barefacts. Ministers have promised to look into the situation, but no actionhas been taken.
It is a shame that the Government has not listened to young peoplesooner on this issue, while the occurrence of teenage pregnancies andsexually transmitted diseases have been on the increase. The parliamenthopes this petition will bring about a change in the Government'sattitude towards sex and relationship education, from which youngpeoples' future sexual health will benefit.
The UK Youth Parliament hopes to collect the signatures of 10,000 youngpeople to present to Downing Street on 16 March.
