Letters: Funds for mental health

Every day, innovative ideas to address problems in the mental health system are generated in staff rooms, wards and outreach teams all over the country. This is why we have launched a new initiative, Innovations in Mental Health, to try and capture some of these ideas and help spread them more widely throughout the system.

This new partnership has been formed between Nesta, the Mental HealthFoundation, Mental Health Media, Mind, Rethink and the Sainsbury Centrefor Mental Health.

The partnership has made a 500,000 fund available toprofessionals working in the field - as well as people with directexperience of distress and their carers - for innovative ways to improvemental health services.

The aim is to find and develop local ideas that could grow intoeffective national projects. If any readers would like more informationor details of how to apply, visit www.nesta.org.uk/mentalhealth.
