Letter: Bullying report welcomed

National parenting charity Parentline Plus welcomes the House of Commons' Education and Skills Select Committee's report on bullying and its recommendations.

We are committed to working with families whose lives are blighted bybullying and we are constantly working to raise awareness of the issuethrough our anti-bullying campaign "Be Someone to Tell".

Our charitable work receives Government funding to run this campaign andwe were heartened to hear our work being endorsed by the House ofCommons' Education and Skills Select Committee.

In the report the committee welcomed the Government's funding ofParentline Plus and urged it to ensure that the charity's work ispromoted by schools to parents. It also stressed the need for a robustcomplaints procedure to help ensure pupils and parents have confidencethat their concerns are taken seriously.
