The coalition's decision to put a stop to 14 projects in Newham means thousands of a students will miss out on the better education facilities they were promised.
This was a chance to improve educational attainment. After already seeing free school meals and free swims under threat, we are disappointed to see another blow to the young people of Newham.
We shall continue to lobby the government to see the funding reinstated.

Axing BSF will cost jobs
An estimated 1,000 construction jobs would have been created in plans for 26 schools in Liverpool to be rebuilt or modernised under Buildings Schools for the Future.
