A modern single-storey building, tucked between rows of flats in London's East End, houses the Spark Centre, a children's disability project run by Barnardo's in partnership with Tower Hamlets social services.

Opened in September 2002, the centre is a resource for disabled children and their families. It also serves as a multi-purpose community facility for the surrounding area, hosting childminder groups and a support group for parents of autistic children.

The centre's activities include Sparkle, which offers weekly play for children aged 18 months to five years who have learning and/or physical disabilities. There is also Space, an after-school and weekend leisure service for five- to 19-year-olds.
