What it is: A National Day Nurseries Association children's centre that supports, promotes and delivers high quality childcare for children, from six weeks to five years old

The National Day Nurseries Association, which started as amembership-only organisation nearly 10 years ago and became a registeredcharity in 1998, has created five new regional centres at a cost of7m over the past year.

The latest centre, which was built in the predominantly Asian area ofSouthall, west London, at a cost of just over 1.5m, is typical ofthe charity's remit and service users. More than 80 per cent of thechildren and parents the centre supports are from ethnic minoritybackgrounds.
