"If they're out, we're out; if they want us to play, we play." This is the motto of PlaySpaces, Wirral Play Council's outreach play project, and the reason you'll find playworkers out in all weathers. The project, which began in November 2003, aims to provide supervised children's play opportunities in a wide range of outdoor locations including parks and woodland, playgrounds, street corners and wasteland.
There may be driving rain or howling winds but this does not stop a team of four qualified playworkers holding about 14 free sessions a week, open to children aged five to 14.
