What it is: A support group for parents of babies and children aged up to five who have a special need or disability

Goal: To support parents, give information and advice, and provide astimulating play environment for their children

Funding: Two lottery grants to start up and develop the project.Currently supported by the John Lyon's Charity, Ealing Council, EalingPrimary Care Trust, other grant funding and fundraising

The fact that many of the workers and volunteers at Pests (Parents ofEaling Self-help Training Scheme) are parents that were helped by theorganisation is testament to the impact the project has had.

The initiative runs weekly sessions for parents of young children withspecial needs or disabilities and, as outreach worker MaureenFitzpatrick-Browne explains, it is a lifeline to families who can feelisolated and alone.
