Set up in Durham in 1995 by the county council and NHS organisations inthe area, Investing in Children offers a range of services aimed atencouraging the involvement of children in the decisions that affectthem.

This ranges from children as young as three to those in their late teensand covers a wide range of areas such as health, leisure andschooling.

Director Liam Cairns explains: "A lot of schools have a school council,but how many can say that they have actually changed anything?
