What it is: Breastfeeding drop-in run by midwives from Sure Start Kennington in Lambeth, south London

Goal: To provide breastfeeding support and the opportunity for mothersto socialise and share experiences

Many women start breastfeeding their babies but give up because theyencounter problems. That's where a group like Bosom Buddies can come tothe rescue.

Midwives Claire Singh and Rhonwen Jones, who work at Sure StartKennington in Lambeth, set up the project in February this year. Theweekly drop-in is based at a local pre-school, which has the advantageof a pleasant family room.

It is not only somewhere for mothers to get support and advice onbreastfeeding but also a chance for them to meet up and socialise.
