Buzz first walked on the moon and Noel invented the telephone? Must do better. An alternative take on the week's media

- British children believe Buzz Lightyear was the first person to walk on the moon and counter-terrorist Jack Bauer from cult drama 24 was the brains behind the Gunpowder Plot, according to a survey reported by the Daily Telegraph.

The poll of 2,000 children aged six to 12 "shows most of them are clueless about key events in history", said the paper.

Eleven per cent thought Albert Einstein was Frankenstein's brother, while one in six failed to identify US President Barack Obama, claiming he was Mr T from The A-Team, racing driver Lewis Hamilton and even Nelson Mandela.
