In Practice: Up & running - Mass opening party

1 min read
Lincolnshire County Council proved it knows how to party when it launched 23 children's centres on the same day.

The mass celebration took place on 23 May at 2.30pm. A video link joined together events at four of the centres while others took part in a giant tea party.

A new children's centre in Newmarket opened last month. Services on offer at the £159,000 Foley House Children's Centre include "living with baby" courses.

Children enjoyed a day of messy play at the launch of East City Sure Start Centre in Lakenham, Norwich. Other attractions included a creepy-crawly roadshow and Indian head massage for parents.

The breakfast club at Riverside Primary School in Herefordshire has pushed back the clock and will open from 7.30am to help parents who work shifts.
