In Practice: Up & running - Belper centre opens

A new children's centre in Belper was due to officially open its doors yesterday (3 June). The drop-in facility is part of a network of 42 centres being developed across Derbyshire.

Staff, children and parents celebrated the launch of Devonshire Children's Centre in East Sussex last month. The event was also a chance to mark progress on the second phase of the county's children's centre programme.

Families checked out progress on one of Norfolk's newest children's centres last month. Building work is under way on Corpusty and Holt's £745,000 centre, which is currently running services from the local library.

A celebration marked the completion of building work on a children's centre in Coventry. The centre, which will serve families from the Spon End area of the city, is in the grounds of Spon Gate Primary School.
