In Practice: Up & running - Disability club opens

1 min read
An after-school club for young people with physical and learning disabilities has been launched by Bath and North East Somerset Council.

The club, based at Bath Sports and Leisure Centre, will give 11- to 18-year-olds the chance to enjoy activities such as judo and swimming.

Maxilla Children's Centre in Kensington and Chelsea opened its doors on 14 September. The centre offers services including a post-natal group and adult literacy classes.

A range of extended services including an after-school activity club and a weekly drop in for parents and carers has been launched at Binfield Library in Bracknell Forest.

Song and dance performances by children added sparkle to the official opening of Birmingham's newest children's centre last month. Brambles Children's Centre is next to Perry Common Junior and Infant School and is linked to a nearby nursery.
