There was plenty of fun to be had at the opening of the revamped Leiston Children's Centre in Suffolk last month. The centre includes new childcare and family support services.

YMCA's name game

Clowns, balloons and a treasure hunt helped make the official opening ofthe 1.2 million Greets Green Children's Centre in West Bromwichlast month a day to remember. Families also took part in a competitionto name the centre's nursery, which is run by the YMCA.

A new children's centre in Ipswich was due to open its doors today (2May). Activities on offer at Meredith Children's Centre include babymassage, play sessions and a music group.

Children planted seeds and enjoyed juggling and henna hand painting atthe launch of Todmorden Children's Centre at Todmorden Community Collegein Calderdale on 21 April.

Building work has started on a new nursery for three- and four-year-oldsbased at Woodlands Middle School in Bradwell. The nursery will bemanaged by the school with the governors and is due to open for theautumn term.
