In Practice: Up & Running: Leeds centres approved.

1 min read
Leeds City Council has approved plans to build 10 more children's centres in the city over the next two years. Sites for the centres include six primary schools and an early years centre.

An £860,000 children's centre has been launched in Dartmouth, Devon. The centre was built on the Dartmouth Learning Campus next to Dartmouth Primary School and Community College.

A former classroom has been transformed into the base for an after-school club at St Anne's Primary School in Bishop Auckland. The school has teamed up with childcare centre Buddies to offer after-school sessions to four- to 11-year-olds.

Overweight young people in Hull are being encouraged to take part in a free, 10-week after-school health programme with their families. The Mind Exercise Nutrition ... Do It! scheme is for seven- to 13-year-olds and is backed by NHS Hull, Hull City Council and sports coaching company Services to Sport.
