In Practice: Up & running - Art marks the occasion

Families created an artwork as a special memento of the launch of Battle Children's Centre in East Sussex last month. The centre is in the grounds of Battle & Langton Primary School.

Children from Axminster and surrounding villages will benefit from a new after-school club launched at Axminster Community Primary School this week.

Clog dancers and clowns helped celebrate the opening of the Stourbridge Children and Family Centre. The centre, which is a partnership between Dudley Council and children's charity NCH, provides services for children and young people up to 18.

Longhill High School in Rottingdean is setting up an after-school club with local youth charity Woodingdean Youth Centre. The club will include a ChillZone where young people can relax with friends and a LearnZone for homework and study support.

Children planted a time capsule containing letters they had written at the launch of the Redbourn and Villages Children's Centre in Hertfordshire last month.
