Although not open long, Willow Children's Centre is already a successstory. Ofsted highlighted good indoor and outdoor play opportunities, aneffective key worker system that allows staff to monitor children'sprogress, and good team work.

"First and foremost the centre's success is down to the energy of centrehead Anita Mehta and the commitment of staff," says Lesley Fox-Lee, headof Brent's early years service.

This has been aided by good quality induction and training for allstaff, even those on temporary contracts, adds Fox-Lee.
