Goal: To bring three generations together to create a lasting artwork
Contact: 01384 815723
Children, parents and elderly residents from Cradley in the West Midlands are all working together on an innovative art project. They have helped design three totem poles to stand in Caslon Primary School's community garden.
The first will be adorned with nursery rhyme and storybook characters chosen by children from the school, Little Hands Children's Centre and a local nursery. Parents from different backgrounds, including some from the Yemeni community, have created images for the second. And the third will be based on the memories of elderly residents. All contributors will have the chance to try their hand at carving in workshops at the school.
