Goal: To help professionals and parents develop children's speech and communication skills

"Often in children's centres you have colourful materials on five-a-day and health and safety but speech and language loses out," says speech and language therapist Rachel Dillon.
That's one reason why therapists employed by Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust and children's centre staff have worked together to create the Talking with Baby resource pack.
The packs, which are being tested in centres across Bassetlaw, north Nottinghamshire, include posters to highlight the importance of communicating with babies and toddlers, a nursery rhyme booklet, and leaflets that explain what parents and staff can expect of children of different ages.
