In Practice: Cash in hand - The Foyle Foundation

The Foyle Foundation is an independent grant-making trust that funds projects linked to learning, the arts or health.

It mainly funds charities, with grants of between £10,000 and £50,000 on offer. One of the foundation's main priorities is support for children with special educational needs and learning difficulties. State-funded secondary, primary and special schools can apply for grants but must demonstrate why their project would not get statutory funding. The average grant made to schools is between £10,000 and £20,000. Parent Teacher Associations, friends groups or school fundraising organisations with charitable status should apply on a school's behalf.
