In Practice: Cash in hand - Access to Nature

Access to Nature is a 25m programme, administered by Natural England, with the aim of encouraging more people to enjoy the outdoors.

It is part of the Big Lottery Fund's environmental funding programme Changing Spaces, which is particularly aimed at people who currently have little or no contact with the natural environment. Schools and children's centres are eligible to apply for grants of between £50,000 and £500,000. Applications so far have tended to be at the higher end of the range so smaller projects stand a good chance of receiving funding. The deadline is June 2010.
