It aims to help young people and adults who have experienced mental distress to get involved in environmental projects that improve mental and physical health and local communities.
Schools, colleges and groups of young people can apply. The kind of school-based projects eligible for funding might include establishing a sensory garden or wildlife habitat. Ecominds has 65 small grants of up to £20,000 on offer and this part of the programme is under-subscribed. Larger grants are available but competition is intense. At the moment there is no set closing date for small grant applications.
