It's worth bearing in mind that certain times of year are much busier for schools than others, so try to plan your next approach with this in mind. It will also probably help you if you present some ideas about how your work might contribute to some of their objectives - especially in the light of the new School Improvement Planning Framework. Finally, if you can't get the school involved directly, speak to your local authority extended services team and they will be able to point you in the right direction for another contact in the cluster.
As a third sector organisation, you'll be able to apply for funding that statutory bodies can't. One of the key drivers for successful grant applications is being able to show the impact of the work that you do - support from the school will help with this.
