How we are improving ... Outcomes for care leavers in Haringey

In 2005, only 47.8 per cent of 19-year-olds leaving care in Haringey were in education, employment or training, but the council is now seven per cent above the national average.

2009 England 63% Haringey 70.8%

In 2005, 47.8 per cent of 19-year-olds leaving care in Haringey were in education, employment or training. This was below the national average of 58.4 per cent.

But efforts to improve have not only led to a rise in these figures but a rise that puts the council seven per cent above the national average, with 70.8 per cent of its care leavers now securing training, education or employment beyond school.
