Honours: Youth sector cleans up in Honours list

The highest honour related to the youth sector was a knighthood for Mike Tomlinson, who headed the working group on 14 to 19 education reform.

Gillian Pugh, chief executive of Coram Family, was made a dame, while Peter Nicholson, head of Newham Youth Offending Services, was appointed OBE.

More than 30 people in the youth work and youth justice sectors were appointed MBE, including Gary Stannett, a manager at crime-reduction project Kickstart, Rosemary Augar, a Duke of Edinburgh's Award field officer, and Michael Foster, education manager at Northern Ireland's Youth Justice Agency.
