Hugh Hastie, chief executive of Connexions Derbyshire Limited, which changed from a sub-contracted model on 1 April to direct delivery (see YPN, 9-15 June, p2), was appointed OBE.
The Queen appointed Brian Gray MBE. He is the former chief executive of Derbyshire Connexions Service Limited, which merged with Connexions Derbyshire when it changed.
Susanna Cheal, chief executive of The Who Cares? Trust, was also appointed OBE. She was appointed MBE in 1992 for her work with the premature baby charity Bliss.
Also appointed OBE were Valentine Holding, a former treasurer at Girlguiding UK, Major John Garner, chief executive of Kids Out, and Jack Petchey, of the Jack Petchey Foundation.
