Health News: Palliative care - No mention for the terminally ill

Services for terminally ill children are unlikely to receive a special mention in the new national indicator for disabled children, according to a ministerial adviser.

However Vicky Wibberley, adviser to education minister Lord Adonis, toldChildren Now it was unlikely the indicator would specifically mentionany services.

Children's palliative care services have pinned their hopes of financialsurvival on being singled out within the measure to push health servicesinto funding them (Children Now 23-29 May).
