The conception rate in the city has fallen by 4.6 per cent since thefigures for the teenage pregnancy strategy were first collected in1998.
This represents a drop of just four pregnancies. The teenage pregnancyrate fell to its lowest rate in 2003 when it reached 43.1 conceptionsper 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17. Since 2003 it has risen sharply to itscurrent level.
