43.1 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15-17 in 1999-2001 (48.7 in

Wales)

Flintshire has a slightly lower rate of teenage conception than average for Wales. This amounts to around 22 conceptions a year for girls aged 13-15 years, and approximately 119 conceptions for girls aged under 18. Although Flintshire is a relatively healthy county, data for the whole county hides big differences between sections of the population: it has the third highest teenage pregnancy rate for 13- to 15-year-olds in North Wales.
