A spokesman said Blaenau Gwent LEA was "committed to addressing the issue of teenage pregnancy through the PSE schemes of work in schools". Pupils take home computerised dolls and "empathy bellies" that replicate the discomfort of pregnancy are used as a starting point for discussions.
The spokesman added: "The authority also works in close partnership with the local health board and the New Opportunities Fund to promote awareness of contraception and sexual health."
