46.4 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17 in 1998 (46.6 in England)

- 36.5 conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17 in 2004 (41.5 inEngland)

- 6.9% of live births weighed less than 2,500 grams in 2004 (7.6 percent in England)

- 5.5 infant deaths under one week per 1,000 women in 2004 (8.4 inEngland)

The conception rate in Nottinghamshire has dropped by 9.9 per cent since1998. Figures have fluctuated over that six-year period, they dropped to36.4 conceptions per 1,000 15- to 17-year-old girls in 2001 but roseagain to hit 38.4 conceptions per 1,000 for that group in 2003. Thepercentage of conceptions resulting in abortion has also varied.Abortion rates for 15- to 17-year-olds peaked in 2002 at 41.9 per centand were at their lowest in 1999 at 37.1 per cent.
