The conception rate in Darlington has fallen by 25.3 per cent sincefigures for the teenage pregnancy strategy were first collected. Thisrepresents a fall from 116 conceptions in 1998 to 93 in 2004, a drop of23.

The percentage of conceptions that led to abortion in 2004 was 41.9compared to England's average of 46.
