The conception rate in Surrey has fallen by 19.6 per cent since figuresfor the teenage pregnancy strategy were first collected in 1998. Thisrepresents a fall from 494 conceptions in 1998 to 427 in 2004, a drop of67.
The proportion of conceptions that led to abortion in 2004 was 61.8 percent compared to the national average of 46 per cent.
