Health and wellbeing were key themes identified in the charitys recent Make Space Youth Review and it is following up the work by producing a framework for healthy clubs.
Anne Longfield, the chief executive of 4Children, which runs Make Space, said: The idea is to develop something like a health club programme that is going to look at the health of young people.
The scheme is unlikely to be launched until next year. Long-field said it will be something like the Governments Healthy Schools programme, but for youth clubs.
Healthy Schools accredits schools for promoting the health of young people, and linking health to educational achievement.
