The Make Space Youth Review will run until June next year. The plan is to lobby for youth resources in the 2007 Comprehensive Spending Review in the same way that the charity's Childcare Commission, chaired by Harriet Harman, made the case for universal provision for children and families in 2001.
The youth review will run along similar lines, with a board of opinion-formers, written and oral evidence, regional roadshow events, a policy review and a final report. It is understood that Ed Miliband MP was in the running to co-chair the review until he was appointed to a junior ministerial role in Tony Blair's reshuffle on Friday.
