4Children health programme to target out-of-school settings

1 min read Health Youth Work
Youth clubs, extended schools and community groups are to improve young people's health by offering advice and support.

The Make Space for Health project, run by charity 4Children and Nestle, will be launched next week (1 July). It will encourage out-of-school settings to provide information on health, nutrition and wellbeing to young people.

Anne Longfield, chief executive of 4Children, said: "The project responds to young people telling us they want to be healthier but don't have enough support or know where to go to get information. At the core of this is taking that information out into their communities."

The project will have a strategic role, bringing together local authorities, primary care trusts and other organisations to work out what is needed locally and how it can be delivered.
