Health: Cancer charity to launch charter for care of young

1 min read

The charter will be launched on 24 August, on the anniversary of the publishing of National Institute for Clinical Excellent guidelines on cancer care for young people, as part of a "model of care" gold standard the charity hopes hospitals will sign up to.

The charter, for young people aged 15 to 24, will include guarantees such as having an independent care plan, which includes access to youth workers, access to the internet, advice on education and links to schools, benefits advice, and outside agencies such as Connexions. The "model of care" guidelines will push for more age-appropriate standards of health care for young people.
