Scotland: Forum for young cancer patients

1 min read

Clic Sargent is setting up the Scottish Youth Forum for Young People with Cancer, in conjunction with cancer support charity Tak Tent, and the Teenage Cancer Trust. The forum forms one of the key points on Clic Sargents youth charter, launched last year.

Ellen Finlayson, head of services for Scotland and Northern Ireland at Clic Sargent, said: It is important young people have a voice and we will be advising and supporting them in this.

Finlayson hopes that about 40 young people will join the forum. A group of 14 young people are already part of the consultation group. As well as applying for grants, the group will be addressing issues such as age-appropriate care, support for teenagers in hospitals, and the isolation felt by young people with cancer.
